Over 200 camels (dromedaries) live in the National Park at Timanfaya in Lanzarote. They are to provide the tourists with a ride up the side of one of the region's volcanoes. Each animal carries two people and the camel train is then led up the side of the mountain by a guide. The camels are all muzzled as they have a tendency to bite.
