Poem about Matthew Hopkins, the English witch-finder whose career flourished in the time of the English Civil War. He claimed to hold, the office of "Witch-finder General" given to him by the Puritan Parliament. He was responsible for the death of over 200 people in the East of England. He died in 1647.
